Left him on a Tuesday, didn't have much to say
wrote a note explaining, I'm not how I should be
the rain is out to get me, it brings the sorrow I see
if I only had a raincoat, I'd let it wash right over me.

Met a man on Wednesday, he told me that I could stay
shook his hand and thanked him, just like my mother taught me
to always speak politely, even if you feel like screaming
to write your words with poetry, and break your mind with good things.

But when I got to Thursday I couldn't see
any of the good things, ahead of me.
Tried to write with words of good intent
tried to find a good place to rest my head.
What if it's all over now for me?
What if his is the only air I breathe.
I want to feel the colour in my cheeks
I want to be the day when night time sleeps.

I want good things
Oh good days, good nights, good sleep.
